GYPSY PERFORMS TO SOLD OUT AUDIENCES
“Everything’s Coming up Roses” for Seguin Art Center as their production of Gypsy performed to sold out audiences during their two week run.
“What a milestone! Those on the Board of Seguin Art Center who were in attendance during the second week run were ecstatic!” states SAC Vice- President, Rebecca Phillips.
“To see so many folks walk through the doors of the Palace to support the arts in Seguin has been very rewarding! When you see members of the SISD school board or the SISD Superintendent come and support the students of Seguin, both past and present, you know you live in a great town!
“Supporters from the Conservation Society and the Texas Task force have come out to support the cast and crew of Gypsy, as well as Judge Frank Follis and Mayor Betty Mathis to name a few! What support!
“But there is one lady who was in attendance, Lucille Terrell, whom I believe has seen more Seguin Art Center productions than any other patron in town, who really makes our production complete. A Seguin Art Center show just isn't the same without her!"
Familiar faces in attendance were Steve Tschoepe, Don Keil, Erma Lewis, Irene Garza, Jeff Koehler, Doris Rinn, Roxanne Heckman, Susan Brannan, Mark & Karen Wallock, Greg & Ruth Ander, Lucille Terrell, Cliftine Dwyer and George Walker to name a few! Phillips states, “It’s been so crowded in the lobby it’s hard to see everyone who has come through!”
Sheila Lucas, director of Gypsy states, “I knew that Gypsy would be a good fit for Seguin Art Center and the Palace Theatre. It was a joy to see the full houses and the people enjoying themselves with a good story.”
The cast, crew, producers and directors would like to thank everyone who has attended our productions this season. Keep checking back for updates on our upcoming 2008-2009 season!
